MEET JON
New Leadership Delivering Results for Our District
I moved here from New York City in 2006. Missouri is very much my home for the last 15 years. I am an enthusiastic sports fan. With season tickets to the Blues, I never miss a game. I love watching, analyzing and discussing any sport with anyone.
I got into technology at a young age, just as it was starting to proliferate. I graduated high school in 1996 during the early stages of the tech boom and pursued a career in software engineering. In the last 25 years I’ve played major roles in the development of software for startups and international corporations.
When it came time to submit a future goal to print beneath my picture in my sixth grade yearbook I didn’t want to be a doctor, lawyer or ball player - I wanted to “end prejudice”. Since that time it’s been a core component of who I am. Nearly 35 years removed from that yearbook, social justice remains at the core of who I am and what I do - and is the absolute epicenter of my campaign for public office. Social justice is about creating a better world for all of us - the people who are actively oppressed, the people who suffer constant micro aggressions and even those who live free of those things but don’t experience a world that lives up to its highest ideals.
As a family, we enjoy spending as much time together as possible. Since my daughter’s fifth birthday, we have taken several trips to our favorite family spot, Disney. When we’re not taking in the joys of the happiest place on earth, we enjoy music, the arts and supporting and attending our daughter’s marching band competitions. I believe that family always comes first and there should never be a moment when a family can be torn apart because of preventable issues.
